As part of his role as member of the scientific advisory board of the EU Sanitas project (www.sanitas-itn.eu), Peter Vanrolleghem stayed for a month at Lund University, one of the Sanitas academic partners. He took up the task of interacting extensively with the PhD students enrolled at Lund University (Kim Solon and Ramesh Saagi) and at the Technical University of Denmark (Laura Snip) and their supervisors, Ulf Jeppsson, Krist Gernaey and Xavier Flores-Alsina. During this period he also made visits to two Sanitas utility partners, Waterschap De Dommel (The Netherlands) and Aquafin (Belgium), where he met with Stefan Weijers and Bertrand Vallet (former modelEAU PhD student). The Sanitas project deals with the next stage of benchmark simulation models, looking into greenhouse gasses, micropollutants, precipitation and chemical equilibria models, and the whole integrated urban wastewater system. Clearly all topics of current interest at modelEAU too.
