Thanks to a forecasting model developed by CentrEau researchers, in collaboration with the INRS-ETE, Québec City will allow swimming at Baie the Beauport this summer.

Quebec City will allow bathing in Baie the Beauport on certain days this summer, but never if it compromises the health of bathers. Thus, the predictive model developped by Université Laval should help the City make the right decisions.

After 50 years of prohibited swimming on account of pollution and 20 years of continued remediation efforts on the part of the city, the citizens of Quebec finally gained back their bathing access to the St. Lawrence river.
