Yoann obtained in 2011 a DUT in chemical and process engineering, with bioprocess option. When he came to Université Laval, Yoann was in his 4th year of engineering school at INSA Toulouse. In order to complete his diploma, he performed his engineer internship within the modelEAU team.

His project's objectives were to sample and characterize the grit chambers of a wastewater plant of Quebec city. The data interpretation will improve the performance of the grit chambers. This will also assist in the development of a mathematical model which reflecting the behavior of a grit chamber in primary wastewater treatment as part of an industrial research.
