Research fields :

Cyril Garneau owns a degree in applied physics from Université Laval. He completed his master's degree in civil engineering working on the computation of the steady state of water quality models at Université Laval. In 2014, he completed its PhD at Université de Toulouse, France, on the modelling of trace metals in surface waters.

The Baie de Beauport, at the center of Quebec City, has been the subject of a water quality monitoring program for many years. If the water quality satisfies bathing regulation regularly, there are still periods during which the regulations are exceeded, preventing swimming at all time. This project aims to develop a model to predict water quality capable of deciding whether or not the Baie de Beauport can be opened for bathing.
