José obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental engineering from Wilkes University (USA) and Manhattan College (USA), respectively. He also has 14 years of experience in applied research, design, modeling, planning, and optimization of urban water systems. José is the Chair of the IWA Task Group on GHG.
He obtained a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher fellowship at the University of Girona within the SANITAS project. José’s focus was on qualitative modeling for sustainable urban water system management. This included extending risk assessment modeling techniques for modeling the risk of microbial related operational problems and GHG production and developing urban water system decision support tools.
