Maryam obtained her bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at University of Tehran, in 2016. For her bachelor thesis, she worked on data analysis of wastewater treatment technologies. Then, she obtained a master's degree in water engineering at Laval University, in 2019. Her topic was on the biological processes in the activated sludge with special attention to pH dynamics, mixing and mass transfer (oxygen) related to chemical equilibria.

At the beggining of 2021, she is came back at modelEAU to work in the COVID project to aim at being the monitoring of the virus on the wastewater.
