Mahmood did a multiple M.Sc. in Flood Risk Management and Hydro-informatics at UNESCO-IHE in the Netherlands, TU Dresden in Germany, UPC Barcelona in Spain, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, and DHI company in Denmark. Then he started his PhD in Sanitary Engineering at TU Delft in the Netherlands and Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) within the European ITN project called QUICS. His PhD research is on surrogate modelling for simplification of detailed urban drainage simulators to be applied in RTC operation. He is visiting modelEAU group to collaborate with Prof. Peter Vanrolleghem and PhD student, Sovanna Tik, to develop a data-driven Gaussian Process Emulator (GPE) for the Quebec case-study which is developed in WEST simulator.
