Mansour hold a master'ss degree in water structures engineering. He finished his thesis under the supervision of Saeed Morid at Tarbiat Modares University. In his master’s thesis, he studied the issue of uncertainty in sediment load modeling using SWAT.

The title of his PhD project was "Probability-based design of wastewater treatment plants: Estimating the probability of compliance". The main objective of his PhD research was to develop a methodology to identify, select and quantify important sources of uncertainty in model-based design of wastewater treatment plants. This methodology should allow estimating the probability of meeting effluent standards. Objective uncertainty analysis will result in the optimum design of wastewater treatment plants with a desired level of reliability. Therefore, the application of current and rather subjective safety factors in the design of these plants can be avoided.
