Specialisation : Integrated urban water systems modelling

Master

E-mail : leila.pieper.1@ulaval.ca
Department of Civil Engineering and Water Engineering - Pavillon Adrien-Pouliot - 1065, avenue de la Médecine .

Research fields :

Leila attended McGill University for her undergraduate studies. She obtained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a focus on water resources, and a minor in environmental engineering. Leila worked as a junior consulting engineer at Stantec Consulting prior to commencing her master’s program at Université Laval in 2015.

Leila’s research will involve conducting an analysis of modelling approaches used to develop the simplified hydrologic and hydraulic models fed into integrated models. These integrated models, and the submodels, need to be computationally efficient and have physically meaningful parameters, yet they need to represent complex systems in a simplified way. Leila’s main goals include evaluating and increasing the efficiency and applicability of existing methods for applications in the water industry. To test the effectiveness of various methods, a case study in Ottawa, Ontario, will be used.
