Projects :
LCA of urban wastewater systems

Research fields :

After he completed his bachelor’s degree in water engineering from Université Laval in 2010, David has begun a masters' degree in civil engineering under the direction of Prof. Christian Bouchard and co-direction of Prof. Peter Vanrolleghem after having obtained the Alexander Graham Bell grant from the NSERC and the EDS grant from the Hydro-Québec Institute for environment, development and society of Université Laval.

His master's subject was about environmental and cost life cycle analysis (LCA) of wastewater treatment system. The project included gathering the inventory of the input and the output of every step of the wastewater system’s life cycle and the analysis and interpretation of the inventory using life cycle impact assessment methods.

The overall goal of the study was the evaluation of the environmental benefit obtained thanks to the wastewater treatment system and to evaluate the financial cost linked to that benefit
