Minh did his master's degree at the Superior Institute of Engineers of Brussels, in Belgium, with a specialization in industrial computing.
The modelEAU team uses the R-Project (1) language to program files and run simulations from the data on their personal computer. But given the computing power of the computer usually limited, it takes a very long time for a simulation of water quality for 10 years, for example.
It is therefore interesting to do simulation on the supercomputer Colossus (2), available at Université Laval.
In this context, his project was to build a module doing interconnection between R-Project and the various modules available on Colossus to realize simulations of sensitivity calculations of models of water quality.
(1) R-Project: a programming language for data processing and statistical analysis.
(2) Colossus: a supercomputer with 8,000 processors and 24 terabytes of memory.
