Clement was a 2nd year student of DUT (University Technological degree) in chemical engineering and process engineering at the University of Aix-Marseille in France. He made this internship in order to validate his diploma at the end of the year.

Clement worked on the project primEAU. He was to effect separation of COD in and out of a primary clarifier. For this, he used a respirometer. He was also working on measuring BOD.
