Marta completed her studies in chemistry at the University of Girona, Spain. She did the final project of her degree at the ICRA (Catalan Institute for Water Research, Spain) on the removal of pharmaceutical products in wastewater.

She came to Université Laval to learn more about wastewater treatment. Within the primEAU project, she learned how to characterize the particle size in a primary clarifier.
