Yumeng was a third year undergraduate student in the Harbin Institute of Technology in China when she came to Université Laval.

In the project pilEAUte, a large pilot wastewater treatment plant (10 m3 bioreactor) is used to collect large data sets by using a large number of advanced sensors installed at the pilot plant and lab analysis of samples taken on a regular basis. To improve the process understanding, Yumeng collected data under different operating conditions. She developed a mathematical models of the process within the WEST wastewater treatment plant simulator and she tried to fit the models to the collected data. The model will be used to optimize the process by changing certain process settings.
