Departement of Civil Engineering and Water Engineering - Pavillon Adrien-Pouliot - 1065, Médecine avenue.

Research fields :

Christophe first started by studying biomedical sciences in 2016 at University Laval. He switched to water engineering in 2017.

He will do an internship in modelEAU team to study the biological processes in activated sludge with particular attention to pH dynamics, mixing and mass transfer (oxygen) related to chemical equilibria. More specifically, the project aims to increase the production of AGVs (volatile fatty acids) that are part of the soluble BOD to improve nitrification / denitrification in biological reactors. On the other hand the project aims to understand what is happening in the primary clarifier. Some tools using PHREEQC / PHREEQXCEL are therefore constructed to analyze the wastewater and to estimate its composition (using a titration curve) thanks to the methodology shown in the diagram.
