Saba received his Bachelor degree in chemical engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran and then moved to Italy where he completed his Master degree in Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at Polytechnic University of Milan. He started his PhD in 2015 at University of Pavia working on phosphorus recovery process.

During his PhD, Saba is focusing particularly on struvite precipitation process as a sustainable and effective method for phosphorus recovery from wastewater sludge. He is currently doing an internship, as a part of his PhD studies, at modelEAU, working on struvite precipitation modeling in order to find the optimal conditions under which highly efficient struvite precipitation can be achieved.
