Michele received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil and Environmental engineering at UNIVPM (Ancona, ITA) in 2014 and 2017, respectively. In 2017, he also spent a post-graduation internship of six months in Trojan Technologies (London, ON). His master thesis and internship were both related to EU projects, i.e. SMART-Plant and IntCatch. From January 2018 he is a MASc student in Civil Engineering at Ryerson University (Toronto).
Michele works on the pilEAUte focusing his attention on primary clarifier. He aims to use elutriation as a way of operating primary clarifier to create increased readily biodegradable COD concentration (ideally in the form of VFA) in the primary effluent. In turn, this enhanced VFA concentration will increase the downstream biologicalperformance.
