Rania obtained her engineering
degree in water and waste management and treatment in 2018 from the engineering
school of Medjez al Beb, Tunisia. During the summer 2018, she carried out an
internship in the pilEAUte team. She worked on the determination of the
hydraulic behavior of the biological reactors under different operational
conditions, trying to eliminate “back mixing” from the third to the second
basin of pilEAUte which affect Nitrification / Denitrification process.
Interested in scientific research
and advanced water treatment techniques, Rania decided to start her research
master's degree at Laval University where she works within the modelEAU team.
Rania is working on nutrient recovery from sludge from both the primary and secondary settlers using a variety of recovery technologies. Thus, her project aims to model this process in order to provide high efficiency fertilizers.
