Frédéric Cloutier - Until 19/01/2011

Research fields :

Frederic began his master's degree program in september 2006 right after having completed his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with a concentration in environmental biotechnologies from Université Laval. He joined the modelEAU team under the guidance of Dr. Peter Vanrolleghem.

His master studies focused on the development of dynamic models to describe the fate of micropollutants in the integrated urban wastewater systems. The purpose of this was to build a mathematical model which simultaneously describes the fate of traditional pollutants and toxic components, such as heavy metals and xenobiotic organic compounds. His work fitted into the modelEAU's workpackage in the EU-funded project SCORE-PP (Source Control Options for Reducing Emissions of Priority Pollutants) which aimed the development of strategies to limit the release of priority pollutants either by replacing these pollutants containing products or by identifying appropriate control technologies that could be applyied on existing WWTP.
