Céline has a Master and Bachelor degree in Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University with a specialization in Environmental Technologies. She obtained several awards and nominations for her Master thesis research on the recovery and reuse of high-quality water and nutrients from agricultural waste waters and sludge.
In 2011 Céline started working as a PhD student and teaching assistant at Ghent University in the field of nutrient recovery from waste water and sludge. She joint the modelEAU team in 2013 in order to continue and finalize her research with a focus on the optimization of the recovery of nutrients through the use of models. She was awarded a BMP Industrial Innovation Scholarship (FRQNT/NSERC) and works in cooperation with the company Primodal Inc. on the ''modeling of physicochemical nutrient recovery systems for wastewater and sludge streams in order to sustainably produce marketable fertilizers with high nutrient availability''.
