Gamze Kirim completed B.Sc. studies at the Environmental Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2011. After that she started her professional carrier as a process engineer and completed her M.Sc. education at the same university in 2015. She focused on model-based energy optimization and rehabilitation of industrial water resource recovery facility (WRRF) on her master thesis.
Gamze wanted to learn more about what is going on behind WRRF modelling and started her Ph.D. study atmodelEAU. She works on the pilEAUte project which aims experimental design for calibration and validation of models of nitrogen removing activated sludge treatment plants. Her project also covers optimization of energy and nitrogen removal in WRRFs.
