E-mail : kris.villez@gmail.com

Projects :
Automated monitoring stations for water quality
TG Benchmarking

Research fields :

Kris Villez has ample experience in data analysis and puts several classic techniques into use such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Squares (PLS), wavelet analysis, neural networks and hybrids of the former. Qualitative analysis is a largely unexplored thread he has picked up in purpose of well-targeted data analysis. Next to the application of the latter tools, an important part of his work was focused on the further development of these tools and their extensions in view of improved robustness and performance. Amongst others, the range of pursued applications includes automated diagnostics and control for wastewater treatment plants, development of self-diagnostic data acquisition systems for river basins, analysis of environmental data series and on-line monitoring of plant crops.
